Common issues
The app says it did not hear my child read
Check that the microphone permission is allowed in Settings, that the room is not too noisy, and that the child is reading at a normal speaking volume rather than whispering. If the page was scanned with the facing page partly inside the frame, the target text will be longer than what is being read; rescan with the page fully inside the guide.
The scan picked up text from the other page
Only what is inside the on-screen frame is used. Move the phone closer or reframe so a single page fills the guide, then check the confirmation screen, which shows exactly the text that will be used before the reading starts.
The apps did not lock again
Re-locking happens automatically when the earned minutes expire. Make sure Screen Time access is still authorized in the app's settings, and that the apps you expect to be locked are still selected. The shortest reward interval the system supports is 15 minutes.
I forgot my parent PIN
For security the PIN is stored only as a cryptographic hash, and we cannot recover or reset it. Deleting the app does not clear it either: iOS keeps Keychain items after an app is removed, so a reinstall on that iPhone asks for the same PIN. What deleting the app does clear is the reading history. While you still have access, you can change the PIN in Settings, Security, Change parent PIN. If it is already lost, the only way to clear it is to erase the iPhone in Settings, General, Transfer or Reset iPhone, Erase All Content and Settings.
Do I have to read one page at a time?
No. Scan every page of the session first, one photo per page, and then read them all out loud in one go. The app checks the reading against everything you scanned, so reading straight from one page to the next is exactly what it expects.
Restoring a purchase
Open the Premium screen and tap Restore. Purchases are tied to the Apple account that made them.
